Bridget Flynn in New York City

7/29/2018

Bridget Flynn sailed from Londonderry to New York City in 1908.  She traveled with Bernard Kilkenny, a cousin from West Barrs, County Leitrim. When she arrived in New York City, Bridget Kilkenny, another Kilkenny cousin, helped get her a job as a maid in the Saks house on 5th Avenue.  Bridget Kilkenny's mother was Annie Flynn, who was the sister of Bridget Flynn's father Francis.  Bridget Kilkenny helped many people immigrating from north Leitrim secure jobs with the Saks family.
