Navy Bread

Joe Ullrich was a cook in the Navy and was stationed on an air craft carrier for much of his service.  Charged with cooking for hundreds of men at a time, the galley staff knew some corners had to be cut (for the enlisted men, that is).  During one inspection, a visiting officer was impressed by the quality of the whole grain bread that was served to the enlisted men and was surprised that officers were only given white bread. When he inquired about the superiority of the enlisted men's bread, he was told that the flour used for both was the same but that the galley staff only had enough time to sift the flour for the officers' bread. In reality, what seemed to be whole grains was bugs.
